Email Encryption Software


Encryption software - Encryption software is software involved with the encryption of data, usually in the form of files on hard drives or removable media.

Disk encryption software - To protect confidentiality of the data stored on a computer disk a computer security technique called disk encryption is used. This article discusses software which is used to implement the technique (for cryptographic aspects of the problem see disk encryption).

Phil Zimmermann - Philip Zimmermann (born February 12, 1954) is the creator of Pretty Good Privacy (PGP), the most widely used email encryption software in the world. He was the first to make asymmetric, or public key, encryption software easily available to all.

Email address harvesting - Email harvesting is the process of obtaining lists of email addresses for use in bulk mail or other purposes usually grouped as spam. Methods range from purchasing lists of email addresses from other spammers to the more common use of special software, known as "harvesting software", "harvesting bots" or "harvesters", which scan web pages, postings on Usenet, mailing list archives and other online sources to obtain email addresses.
